The Nightmare Before Christmas

The Nightmare Before Christmas is, as usual, making its rounds in the news this spooky season. It has cereal, shoes and coffee.  It’s also the perfect flick because we can watch it during Halloween or Christmas and no one bats an eye. But, what if there was another?

With all the remakes in the works, is Disney remaking the cult classic? Some people sure seem to think so.

The rumors insinuate that either a live-action or a follow-up could be in the works. Now, what is there to substantiate these rumors? Not a lot.

According to Moviehole, a source that has given the site credible and reliable information in the past tipped them that Disney wants “to do something with Nightmare Before Christmas – probably a sequel but live-action possible.”

This information was available back in February. Now, sources close to another site We Got This Covered Now, who, are the same ones who told us an Aladdin sequel was in development before it was later confirmed – have informed the world that the project is still in the works and is definitely happening.

Why no major news outlets have proceeded with this news is perhaps an indication that it’s not news yet, but we can still hope.

Yesterday, the voice of the Pumpkin King himself, Chris Sarandon, spoke out about how he would do anything to revive Jack Skellington.

“I’d crawl on my hands and knees, from the east coast to the west coast, in the spring or the fall, to do it again,” Sarandon shared with ComicBook.com when discussing a sequel. “Of course I would. I love that character and I love that I’m part of a legacy of that character as well.”

Sarandon is also known for some of our favorites The Princess Bride and Child’s Play

Tim Burton has been known to be against a sequel but with the power of Disney, he might not have much say in the matter.

Anyhow, if this is something in the works, we hope for some decent news soon. Be it a remake, a sequel or some type of spin-off, we would love to see our favorites back with a vengeance.

The internet is already theorizing about the perfect cast and dreaming for something. Check out some tweets below.
