Nine Inch Nails tap David Lynch to direct "Came Back Haunted" video

Nine Inch Nails have recruited filmmaker David Lynch to direct their upcoming music video for comeback single “Came Back Haunted.”

Best known for the television series Twin Peaks, and films such as Blue Velvet and Mulholland Drive, Lynch has also directed videos for artists such as Interpol and Moby. Nine Inch Nails and Trent Reznor previously collaborated with the filmmaker on the soundtrack for his 1997 film Lost Highway, but this marks Lynch's first time directing the band.

Along with the debut of “Came Back Haunted,” Nine Inch Nails recently announced the full details of their comeback. The group's upcoming album, Hesitation Marks, was recorded in secret, and is slated for release Sept. 3 via Columbia Records. Additionally, the band will embark on a full North American arena tour this fall, with Explosions In The Sky and Godspeed You! Black Emperor.

Nine Inch Nails are known for their edgy, artistic, and, often, experiential music videos. The release date for the “Came Back Haunted” video has not yet been reveled but, in the meantime, you can stream the track below:
