Nintendo President passes away at 55

Nintendo President Satoru Iwata has passed away due to growth in his bile duct, (via IGN). He was 55 years old.

“Nintendo Co., Ltd. deeply regrets to announce that President Satoru Iwata passed away on July 11, 2015 due to a bile duct growth,” reads a release from the company. 

Iwata began working with Nintendo in the '80s, and was appointed as Director in 2000, which was followed by a promotion to President and Representative Director in 2003. Finally, he was promoted to CEO of Nintendo of America Inc. in 2013.
