The track marks the second single the band have released since announcing the new album.

Last month, the band dropped “[Mind Over Mind]” and later dropped a video for the track.

“I don’t believe humans naturally live in a state of constant conflict,” says vocalist Cory Brandan about the song and video. “I think it’s perpetuated. Feel free to dive in further if you want. After that, it’s a heavy rock riff with tons of fuzz!”

The band’s upcoming eighth full-length, titled All Hail, is arriving Oct 25 via Solid State Records. You can place your preorders for the album right now with a few different options being available here.

They shared a brief teaser for the new record featuring numerous social media posts with the phrase “all hail the almighty Norma Jean.” The band also gave their “thanks to the diehards for naming LP8.”

Now they’re releasing “Landslide Defeater” and the track shows a slight shift in style for the band. Its main riff is a more upbeat punk riff mixed with their signature breakdowns, and later in the song they bring back some Meridional-era sounding melodic sections.

They’ve have always included some level of technicality in their songs, but towards the track’s ending, they bring in some interesting shred parts that sound like a new step for the band.
