Oli Sykes recruits Twitter poll help for BMTH festival setlist

Bring Me The Horizon frontman Oli Sykes has found an interesting way to determine the setlist for the band’s All Points East show — by asking the fans themselves.

Sykes took to Twitter to ask fans what they wanted to hear them play at the show.

“OK gonna write the setlist for @allpointseastuk today what am I writing,” he began.

Many fans responded in the replies, some of which Sykes responded to to further discuss their choices.

Then, he started asking them to choose between two songs, eventually opting to make it easier by using Twitter’s “Polls” function.

As expected, the tweets are getting a ton of interaction, so hopefully Sykes got the help he needed from fans.

All Points East Festival takes place May 24 to June 2 in London. It will be their first-ever festival headline set, and apparently, the show is going to be extremely epic.

BMTH keyboardist Jordan Fish previously said the set will be two hours long and the band will play a few old fan-favorites that they haven’t done live in awhile.

“The show is going to be completely different to what we’re doing at any other festival and not only in terms of the setlist,” Fish said.  “We’re going to do some songs that we haven’t played for a long time and it allows us to fit in some newer stuff as well, I guess it means we really don’t have to compromise on the set or drop anything, so it’s going to be a bit of a beats for us.”

The band’s bassist Matt Kean said the band sees the show as a challenge. However, he added that they are ready to take it on.

“We’re seeing it as a bit of a challenge, we want to put on the best show we can and I think it’s going to be super exciting for us to show people that we can headline a festival,” he said.

Fish also previously save some more clues about the setlist during the interview.

“With All Points East there’s going to be something for every one of our fans there,” he said. “We’re going to do some older stuff just because of the history of the band and we’re probably going to be playing some new songs that we’ve never played before off of the new album and obviously everything in between is going to get a good run too.”

“It’s going to be the most comprehensive set for a Bring Me The Horizon fan that we’ve ever played.”

It will be far from BMTH’s only festival appearance, as they were just announced as part of this year’s Lollapalooza lineup alongside huge names such as Ariana Grande, Childish Gambino, Kacey Musgraves, the Chainsmokers and more.

All of this comes after frontman Oli Sykes experienced a ruptured vocal chord that led the band to cancel their final two U.S. tour dates. However, Sykes told fans his voice was fully-healed, so he should be ready for the huge festival run.

Sykes even just joined You Me At Six to sing “Bite My Tongue” which was a huge treat for fans.

You can check out a video of that below.

Also, BMTH just dropped their official music video for their single “mother tongue” that is both touching and a bit, uh, messy. Check that out below.
