The film takes place in 1969 in Los Angeles and stars Pitt and DiCaprio in the lead roles. As previously reported, DiCaprio is set to play Rick Dalton, a “former star of a western TV series.” Pitt will play Cliff Booth, who is Dalton’s “longtime stunt double.” The two characters are “struggling to make it in a Hollywood they don’t recognize anymore. But Rick has a very famous next-door neighbor… Sharon Tate.”

Robbie will star as Tate, an actress who was killed along with several others who were apart of Manson’s cult. It was recently announced that actor Damon Herriman will play Manson in the film.

The films cast also includes Al Pacino, Timothy Olyphant, Kurt Russell, Lena Dunham, Dakota Fanning and many more.

Charles Manson, who died back in November, was the leader of the Manson Family, a murderous cult. The cult was connected with the murders of actress Tate, who was pregnant at the time, and several others in Los Angeles during July and August of 1969.

The film will be released July 26. It was initially set to appear in theaters on August 9, the 50th anniversary of the murder of Tate and her friends. However, it was moved to avoid possible controversy.
