Ed Sheeran joins ONE OK ROCK onstage for “Shape Of You,” more

It’s no secret Ed Sheeran loves alternative having been spotted hanging with Korn at a Marilyn Manson show in the past. Adding to the list of epic crossovers, Sheeran joined ONE OK ROCK onstage at Yokohama Arena in Yokohama on the latter’s Eye Of The Storm Japan tour.

This is actually not the first time the two acts have crossed paths. ONE OK ROCK supported Sheeran on the Asia leg of his Divide world tour in April and May of this year. While on the road together, the band invited Sheeran into the studio to work on new music.

“We had a studio session with Ed !!! In Thailand ?? It was an amazing time!!!!He’s just full of talent #dynamicrecordingstudio #thailand.” ONE OK ROCK frontman Taka Moriuchi shared on Instagram at the time.

The band reunited with the pop singer Wednesday night in Yokohama during their tour supporting their latest album Eye Of The Storm.

Sheeran joined the band onstage to perform “Wherever You Are” off 2010’s Niche Syndrome per the singer’s request according to Billboard. He even sang some of the track in Japanese. Following their performance of the ONE OK ROCK track, Sheeran continued the live collab with his own song, “Shape Of You.”

Following the performance, Moriuchi shared photos with Sheeran and thanked him for joining them.

Sheeran also took to his Instagram story to thank the band, writing “@10969taka pleasure sharing the stage with you man, you’re the best x” and “@oneokrockofficial love you guys, amazing show!”
