Court settlements be damned, the original Misfits are taking their run of stadium set home to New York.

After dropping some not-so-cryptic teasers via Instagram and in front of Madison Square Garden, the band confirmed the addition of a special Halloween set going down Oct. 19.

Initially, the band revealed a snapshot of their iconic skull logo on a screen outside of MSG. LiveNation also shared their own teaser, laying the skull over an orange-lit New York skyline.

Finally, Misfits officially confirmed their Oct. set via Facebook while revealing Rancid and the Damned as support acts.

“DEATH COMES RIPPING AT THE GARDEN when the ORIGINAL MISFITS w/ special guests RANCID & THE DAMNED, return to NYC for their hometown Halloween show—Saturday, October 19th at Madison Square Garden!” the announcement reads.

The latest tour announcement should be great news for fans, as it gives hope for more shows going forward without legal ramifications.

Metalsucks outlined the dramatic saga around the band’s breakup, finding a clause in the settlement that stated how many sets agreed upon for the reunion.

“The parties agree to perform no fewer than ten (10) Misfits reunion shows to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the band,” the settlement reads.

The announcement of this date eclipses the original settlement, meaning the band was not legally obligated to schedule shows.

The original Misfits have four set tour dates before descending on Madison Square Garden in Oct. Tickets for previously announced dates are on sale now.
