Orlando's Wizarding World of Harry Potter to expand, Diagon Alley next project

When the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter opened in 2010 at Universal Orlando Resort, it gave fans a chance to experience some of their favorite places from the series: They could try out wands at Ollivanders, take a thrilling ride through Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, send a postcard at the Owl Post and end their day with a mug of Butterbeer at the Three Broomsticks.

Now fans will be able to do all that–and more. Today Universal Orlando Resort and Warner Bros. Entertainment announced an expansion to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Diagon Alley and 'London' are the next Harry Potter locations the park plans to recreate. The new Harry Potter locales will be located within the Universal Studios Florida theme park, which is adjacent to Universal’s Islands of Adventure theme park, where guests can experience Hogwarts and Hogsmeade. Just like like in the Harry Potter books and films, visitors will be able to travel between London and Hogsmeade aboard the Hogwarts Express.

Work on the new area is already underway, and when complete, it will feature shops, a restaurant and an innovative, marquee attraction based on Gringotts bank.
