Ozzy says Black Sabbath wouldn't let him "have fun" on tour
Ozzy Osbourne just finished Black Sabbath‘s farewell tour last year, but the iconic vocalist is hitting out at his bandmates in the classic heavy metal act for not letting him “have fun” on the veteran group’s final concert run.

“It’s not allowed to have fucking fun with Sabbath,” the singer tells Rolling Stone in a recent feature on Ozzy and his long career. “It’s too serious. Tony [Iommi] was trying to have a go at me, saying, ‘Don’t fucking talk over my solos.’
“I go, ‘OK, are you sure?'” the classic Sabbath frontman continues. “”Cause most of the fucking song is solos. The intro to the song is fuckin’ five minutes and then I sing for about two seconds and then it’s another one.'”
Iommi, of course, is Black Sabbath’s founding member and mainstay lead guitarist. He formed the band in 1968 with drummer Bill Ward before enlisting the talents of Geezer Butler on bass along with the distinctive vocals of Ozzy.
And Ozzy is following in the footsteps of Sabbath with a farewell tour of his own, although the famous vocalist’s playing pretty fast and loose with the idea of the concerts being his last performances ever. (Hint: They’re probably not?)
“What I’m stopping is doing what I’m doing now, going around the world all the time,” he tells The Inquirer. “I wish people would understand I’m not retiring. … It’s called the ‘No More Tours‘ tour. It doesn’t say ‘No more tours ever.'”
But back to the mood-killing Sabbath tour: “I’m not a serious fucking singer,” declares Ozzy. “I’m just a front man who’s trying to get the crowd going in front.”
