Ozzy Osbourne ‘The Dirt’ antics aren’t accurate, former guitarist says

We all know Ozzy Osbourne has done some crazy shit, but apparently some of his stories are just urban legends.

One of these allegedly fabricated fables is the scene featured on Netflix’s recent Mötley Crüe biopic, The Dirt.

Osbourne’s former guitarist Jake E. Lee revealed to Tone-Talk that the Prince Of Darkness never actually went all ’80s on some ants, although the urine-licking was real.

“I was there, and I never saw ants,” he says. “I was right there. He snorted a little spider. There was a not a trail of fucking ants there. Tommy [Lee] says it, Nikki [Sixx] says it, Ozzy says it, [but] they were fucked up. I was not. I was just trying to get a fucking sun tan. That’s all I was doing. They were getting fucked up. Ozzy snorted a little tiny, stupid spider that was crawling across. There was no ants. There was no fucking ants. I don’t care what the other guys say. There was no ants.”

Nikki Sixx remembers the situation a little differently, revealing the story in The Dirt.

“I handed [Ozzy] the straw, and he walked over to a crack in the sidewalk and bent over it,” Sixx writes. “I saw a long column of ants, marching to a little dugout built where the pavement met the dirt. And as I thought, ‘No, he wouldn’t,’ he did. He put the straw to his nose and, with his bare white ass peeking out from under the dress like a sliced honeydew, sent the entire line of ants tickling up his nose with a single, monstrous snort.”

While it’s a shame to hear the less harcore version of Osbourne’s antics, we can safely say he bit the head off both a bat and a dove, revealing his strange appetite in the 2009 autobiography, I Am Ozzy.

More on Ozzy Osbourne

Osbourne is currently recovering after another recent health scare, taking a fall in his home April 4.

Discussing the fall on a recent episode of The Talk, Sharon Osbourne became teary-eyed as she revealed that Ozzy “feels terrible” for having to cancel his upcoming tour dates.

Earlier this month, Osbourne shared that he’ll have to postpone all forthcoming tour dates as he recovers from a recent injury.

Tweets revealed the injuries were a result of falling in his Los Angeles home. The tweet says the fall “aggravated years-old injuries” from an ATV accident that occurred in 2003.

Shows will be rescheduled beginning in February 2020.

During the CBS daytime talk show, Sharon discussed her husband’s condition and shared that he’s doing “great.”

“Ozzy is…oh, Lord, I don’t know where to begin, and I have to make this quick…he, at the beginning of the year, had a bad flu that went to bronchitis, that went to pneumonia. And then when he had the flu, he came out of hospital, and he had a bad accident at home. He fell. And he fell in the middle of the night. Years ago, previously, he had a motorbike accident, where he was in a coma for days. And what he’d done was he reinjured his back and neck and shoulders. And all of the metal rods and everything that were put in his body were dislodged. So we had to cancel his year events. But he’s good, he’s fine, he’s great.”

On the topic of postponing tour dates, Sharon adds:

“He just feels terrible. He says it’s the only thing he’s ever done right in his life, his performing, and he just feels terrible.”
