Ozzy Osbourne postpones UK, Europe tour dates again due to health

Ozzy Osbourne has been forced to postpone more upcoming tour dates due to his ongoing health problems.

Earlier this year, the artist had to delay his entire No More Tours II 2019 tour following injuries he received from falling in his Los Angeles home while battling pneumonia. That fall “aggravated years-old injuries” from an ATV accident that occurred in 2003.

He’s been on the road to recovery since then, releasing a collaboration with Post Malone on the rapper’s newest album and apparently recording a solo record.

However, he’s had to further postpone his upcoming European and UK run because his recovery is taking a bit longer than expected, he told fans in a video posted to Twitter.

In the video, he spoke about his fall and resulting neck surgeries.

“They thought I was dead but I’ve come back again,” he said. “I’m not dying. I am recovering. It’s just taking a little bit longer than everyone thought it would. I’m bored stiff.”

He also added that even though those dates are postponed, his upcoming North American tour is still on.

“I can’t wait to get off my ass and get going again, but you’re just going to have to be a bit more patient,” he continued. “When I do come back on the American tour, I want to be 100 percent ready to come out and knock your socks off”

He also added that he has a new album on the way, which he recorded with Post Malone’s producer.

“I sincerely thank you for your patience, your loyalty, I love you now will you fuck off and let me get better,” he said to the fans.

As previously stated, Ozzy has an album coming out, and Post Malone is partially to thank. To backtrack, recently, the rapper dropped his album Hollywood’s Bleeding, featuring Osbourne on “Take What You Want” with Travis Scott.

In an interview with The Sun where the rock icon talked about his health status, which his wife Sharon says is improving, he also spoke about the collab.

He first revealed he had no idea who Post Malone was when he asked him for a feature.

“I’d never even heard of this kid (Post Malone),” he said. “He wanted me to sing on his song ‘Take What You Want,’ so I did and then one thing led to another.”

He then revealed that working with Post’s producer Andrew Watt actually led him to making a nine-track album that “was a catalyst to get (him) to where (he is) today”.

“I’ve made a new album and it’s helped get me back on track. I was just lying in my own self-pity for months. It’s the greatest album I’ve done,” he said. “If it wasn’t for making this record I would still be on traction, thinking, ‘I’m going to be lying here forever’. I’ve missed music so badly. My fans are so loyal and so good. Up until making the album I thought I was dying. But that got me off my arse.”

He then talked about how it’s his first album he’s recorded in a studio in 10 years, and how that’s made him feel “a bit out of touch” because of how quickly the process is with the internet.

“Music goes straight online these days and that’s quicker than it takes me to write a text. It’s all about downloads and streaming now. What the fuck does that mean? What’s Spotify? I thought it was a skin problem where you woke up spotified,” he said. “The album was all finished in four weeks. I said to Sharon that I didn’t feel like I’d made an album because we haven’t ended up screaming at each other.”

It’s unclear when the album will drop, but we can’t wait to hear it.

As previously mentioned, after a myriad of health problems over the past year, Sharon says her husband is improving. She gave the update during an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live

She said to Kimmel that Ozzy is making good progress but his recovery hasn’t been without its difficulties. “He’s getting a lot better but it’s been a very, very hard road,” she says.

While his health issues are very serious, the family is clearly in good spirits as Sharon made a joke about Ozzy showing her an X-ray of his body filled with metal rods.

“No wonder they call him Iron Man, because I tell you, he’s got so much metal in his body, it’s frightening,” she says.

She also revealed during the interview that Ozzy’s Post Malone‘s collab track “Take What You Want” only took a half-hour to make.

She says during the interview that “Literally, it took like 30 minutes,” and couldn’t have gone any better than it did.

Sharon explains her daughter, Kelly, knows Post’s producer and linked her dad up with the rapper who is a massive Ozzy fan. “They spoke to each other over Skype from the studio because Post was on the road, and Ozzy was in the studio with Post’s producer,” says Osbourne.

Post Malone has also spoken about how the collab happened from his perspective.

“Ozzy Osbourne, baby. I was in Utah because I had just got off tour. It’s good, right? Ozzy went over to Watt’s house”. Post Malone says on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1. “You’ve talked a lot before. He’s a maniac. I said, ‘Hey, you know what? Ozzy Osborne’s coming down, we’re going to cut it and I’ll FaceTime you. And you let me know what’s going on.”

The song’s popularity led to Ozzy Osbourne setting a record for the longest break between top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in history.

The song hit No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, which makes it Osbourne’s first top-10 song on the chart in more than 30 years. It’s also his second song on the chart in his career, with the first being 1989’s “Close My Eyes Forever” with Lita Ford.

The exact amount of time between the songs is 30 years and three months. This beats out the previous record holder Dobie Gray, who’s two version of “Drift Away” both hit the chart 30 years, two months and one week apart.

As Billboard points out, Osbourne’s break between top 10 songs is older than both Post Malone and Travis Scott, which is pretty hilarious to think about.
