Panic! At The Disco to play Billboard Music Awards for the first time

Panic! At The Disco will be performing at this year’s Billboard Music Awards for the first time ever.

Billboard tweeted the news on Tuesday of all the acts that would be performing.

Besides Panic! At The Disco, Khalid, Normani, Sam Smith, Kelly Clarkson and Lauren Daigle will also perform at the show in May. They made the announcement via a cute magic 8-Ball animation.

Panic! Responded to the tweet, saying the “@BBMAs magic 8-Ball has spoken…”

Outside of the performance, P!ATD are up for four awards that night, including Best Rock Song with “High Hopes.” They will also be going against twenty one pilots, Dave Matthews Band, Mumford & Sons and Imagine Dragons for Best Rock Album.

Also, besides Panic!, many of our other favorites are nominated at the BMAs. Post Malone is up for a whopping 17 awards and Halsey is up for two, including Top Female Artists.

Bohemian Rhapsody was nominated alongside 13 Reasons Why: Season 2, A Star Is Born,  Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, and The Greatest Showman for Best Soundtrack. You can check out the full list of nominees here.

The awards show will be held at MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas May 1, and it will air live at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.

In other news, Panic! At The Disco will no longer allow fans to take photos and ask for autographs outside of their hotel. The announcement comes as tour manager Zack Hall tweeted about feeling “creeped out” over fans waiting for P!ATD to walk by.

This isn’t the first time inappropriate fan behavior has been addressed by Hall. Earlier this year, a warning was issued over Brendon Urie‘s famous “death walk” after fans were inappropriately touching Urie during the excursion.
