Are Panic! At The Disco headed to Broadway?

Could Panic! At The Disco be headed to Broadway or were they just gifted the best possible fan art?

The band’s latest Instagram photo is making us think a musical could be in the works. Check out the picture below, and let us know what you think.

Just a few weeks ago, Panic! At The Disco mastermind Brendon Urie revealed to The Sun he’s been discussing ideas for his own musicals with some film directors.

“I’ve been talking to a couple of movie directors about film music ideas and about doing musical theatre, Broadway maybe,” Urie’s quoted as saying in The Sun‘s “Bizarre” column, a point noted by Montana daily outpost the Missoulian, among other news outlets. “The ideal would be to write music for an idea somebody else has come up with.”

That didn’t shock us entirely because the musician already made an incredibly successful debut as an actor on Broadway‘s Kinky Boots. However, the quote leds us to think Urie & co. want to work in a more Panic! At The Disco-related musical. Apparently, he’s been jawing with this shrouded group of moviemakers “about doing my origin story, growing up in Vegas, so we will see what happens.”

Pray For The Wicked on Broadway?

Now, a recent post on the band’s Instagram account made us think there’s an idea already in the works. The image shows Urie holding what seems to be a playbill based on Panic!’s most recent album, Pray For The Wicked.

Our hearts started racing just thinking of the possibility of seeing the chart-topping album as a play. However, could that be a really cool piece of fan art?

Apparently, that’s the case. According to numerous comments on the post, the “playbill” was a gift from Prudential Center. The band played at the New Jersey arena on Jan. 18 and received the book with messages from fans and fan art inside. Whoa, they almost fooled us.

Anyway, the piece is still pretty amazing. You can check Prudential Center’s repost of Panic!’s picture below.
