Papa Roach showcase No. 1 fan in touching “Come Around” video

Papa Roach just shared a touching new video for their song “Come Around” that focuses on the importance of their fans.

The video showcases one of the band’s biggest fans Mark Moreno, who has been listening to the band since 2000 and attended more than 50 Papa Roach shows in his life.

The video begins with frontman Jacoby Shaddix talking about the importance of the music and his connection to the fans before introducing Moreno.

“This music, it gives me a connection to something bigger than myself. This music connects me  to people, this music gives me purpose and we know it’s not just about us, it’s about our fans,” Shaddix says.

Then, the video focuses on Moreno’s life and how Papa Roach has been a huge part of it. He opens up about losing his sister and how it was hard for him to overcome that, but he had a good support system.

“She could change my mood real quickly,” Moreno said about his sister. “She was the leader of our group.”

We also learn more about his fandom for the band, and how he met his girlfriend at a show and he basically works his day job so he can attend more shows.

The end of the video goes back to the gig where Shaddix brings Moreno on-stage to talk about the video.

“Every time you’re in that front row you fucking throw down so hard and I look forward to that shit,” Shaddix said to the fan.

Then, he gifted Moreno a Papa Roach Platinum plaque in honor of his late sister and also free lifetime passes to get him into any of the band’s shows for free. Both Moreno and his girlfriend broke down crying, and honestly so did we.

Shaddix also talked about the message behind the track itself, which is that you can overcome anything with the help of music and good people in your life.

“We knew ‘Come Around’ was one of those special songs when we got done with it. We walked away from the track and kept humming the melody to it, and it’s just one of those things that gets stuck in your head,” Shaddix said in a release. “Lyrically, this track’s about sticking with your friend through thick and thin, or your loved one, as they’re spiraling out.”

“Come Around” comes from the band’s most recent album Who Do You Trust? You can stream that record below.
