‘Stranger Things' Gaten Matarazzo joins Paramore onstage for “Misery Business”

We didn’t think it was possible to love Paramore and Stranger Things more than we already do—until we saw what happens when they come together.

Paramore performed at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, and brought out Gaten Matarazzo, who plays the ever-so-lovable Dustin Henderson on Netflix’s Stranger Things, to jam out onstage to “Misery Business.” Watch the video of it below.

The 15-year-old actor was joined by his sister Sabrina and brother Carmen, both who looked to be a little more comfortable performing the famous jam from 2007 with the band. However, he had that recognizable smile on his face the entire performance and looked like he couldn’t believe it was happening.

Gaten and Sabrina aren’t new to performing, as they are in a New Jersey band called Work In Progress. Work In Progress covered “Misery Business” last year at Asbury Park.

Hayley Williams noticed the Matarazzo’s cover, and invited them to play onstage, which Gaten enthusiastically agreed to. Williams was so serious about the offer she tweeted at Gaten that she’d send over their 2018 tour schedule.

Of course, Work In Progress posted a totally punk-rock Instagram picture with Paramore, captioning it “Meeting some true icons.”

Work In Progress have also covered a few other of our faves, such as Fall Out Boy and Foo Fighters, so it’s obvious the Matarazzo siblings have awesome taste in music.

It was about time the collab finally happened, and we couldn’t be more excited that it did. Maybe one day Work In Progress will open for Paramore on tour, and then our lives will truly be complete.

Paramore are on tour throughout the summer, and you check out all of the dates here.
