P!ATD reach out to hospitalized family following heart-wrenching story

Panic! At the Disco have announced that they are in contact with the Bishops, a family who has recently endured the unthinkable.

Following a severe car crash, the Bishops’ three daughters were hospitalized. The youngest devastatingly lost her life. However, the other two children are still in the hospital.

According to a Facebook post from Jan. 2, mother Katii Bishop shared that her nine-year-old daughter Hannah had tickets to see Panic! At The Disco perform in Nashville later this month. However, because of the nature of the car crash, she will likely not be able to leave the hospital for some time.

In the post, Bishop asks Panic! If they would be able to visit her in the hospital before their Jan. 25 concert.

She knows every song and her second day in here, her nurse asked to play any music she liked,” Bishop says. “So they played P!ATD Station on Pandora, and she started squeezing hands and opening her eyes (Which was at that time, the most movement she had made)!”

Thanks to a flood of notifications, Panic! took notice of the post.

Thank you all for bringing this to our attention,” the band say in a tweet. “We have reached out to the Bishop family. Please continue to send them positive vibes and support. Here’s a link to their @gofundme page. Donate if you able to, or help by spreading the word.”

Additionally, the family has shared updates about the children’s conditions on their GoFundMe page. While Jude, the youngest, sadly passed away, the family has some heartwarming news to share of Norah and Hannah — the two survivors.

As of yesterday, Norah is on a liquid-only diet but is stable enough to play. Hannah has just woken up and the nurses have been able to take out her breathing tube and shunt. Additionally, she has taken off of her sedative and is making some audible noises.

Additionally, an arrangement to celebrate Jude’s life is currently in the works.

The family’s GoFundMe page is being used to cover the family’s medical expenses. While their first goal was already broken, a new goal has been set for $60,000. The new goal will cover the adjustments the family will have to make to their home and vehicle in order to be more accessible for their daughters.
