Pete Davidson kicks out audience member for insensitive Mac Miller joke

Pete Davidson recently kicked out an audience member after they made an insensitive comment regarding Mac Miller’s death.

While setting up a joke at his stand-up comedy show in South Orange, New Jersey, someone took the brief pause as an opportunity to chime in with an offensive remark, according to Page Six.

“…So my friend died in my apartment,” Davidson began to say. However, his joke was rudely interrupted when someone in the crowd confidently echoed, “Mac Miller?”

Despite his shock, Davidson was quick to shut down the comment.

“Oh Jesus Chris, who’s that guy? We’re getting him out,” Davidson says. “I will wait. I will wait. I will not continue until that kid’s gone. I won’t deal with that shit at my shows.”

“I’ll leave,” Davidson continues. “So if you want the show to continue, call out the person who did it. We’ll give him his money back and get him the fuck out. I don’t deal with that shit at my shows. Seriously, if you sit next to the person who did that, call him out cause I’ll just leave right now. I don’t give a shit. I’m not making that much money for this show. This show is just for fun. I’m not gonna have that shit at my shows. I’ve had to deal with that enough.”

Other audience members and security soon identified the person who made the comment. However, the occurence definitely threw Davidson off for a bit of his performance.

“I hope you’re proud of yourself. You just fucking fucked up everything for 45 —  you’re going to make it weird, I’m going to have to fucking do jokes that I know work,” Davidson says to the audience member.

“Make sure he gets his money back too because I don’t want his money,” Davidson continues toward security. “If you can, throw it at him. Seriously.”

Mac Miller’s death

Back in November, it was reported that Mac Miller’s cause of death was ruled an accidental overdose. The late rapper’s cause of death came out after the L.A. County Coroner’s Office issued a toxicology report.

In the report, it was found that Miller had fentanyl, cocaine and alcohol mixed in his system, and as reported by Rolling Stone and Pitchfork, the mix of these substances caused the rapper’s untimely death at the young age of 26.

Upon hearing the news of the late rapper’s passing, many artists have come forward to offer their condolences to his family, friends and fans. Of those musicians, Ariana Grande wrote a heartfelt tribute, and Lil Xan expressed a desire to get sober.

Before his unexpected passing, the artist recorded two singles for a new Spotify session called Spotify Singles. The two-song EP was officially released back in November with a slowed down, version of his track “Dunno” from 2018’s Swimming.

Additionally, Miller also decided to do a cover of Billy Preston’s 1974 song, “Nothing From Nothing.”
