Pete Davidson’s unicorn tattoo is actually goth if you really think about it

Recently, Pete Davidson caught a bit of tattoo fever. After his tattoo artist shared a photo of the finished piece on Instagram, Davidson’s latest ink has us asking a lot of questions.

According to Nylon, Davidson tattooed a massive unicorn on his right forearm. While the tattoo is beautifully done, we have to wonder why the comedian chose the subject.

Tattooed by Ryan Mullins at Top Shelf Tattoo in Queens, New York. Done with black and gray, the unicorn takes on the classic imagery of the mythical creature. Check out the tattoo in question below.

While unicorns typically represent purity and innocence, we’re quickly learning that the one-horned beast may have a darker side. According to UnicornsRule!, they also represent the inability to be tamed.

Additionally, unicorns can also be a symbol of danger in ancient scripture. According to some stories in the Bible, the unicorn can also represent despair and ill-fatedness.

According to LearnTheBible, unicorns are mentioned only nine times. However, the context in which they are mentioned involve catastrophic events. For example, in Isaiah 34:7, the story reads, “And the unicorns shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls; and their land shall be soaked with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness.”

We don’t care who you are… That’s goth.

Obviously, we’re kidding as Davidson’s tattoo clearly takes on a much more mystical approach than what is described in the Bible. However, we’re going to pretend that Davidson’s tattoo represents something a little creepier anyway.

What do you think Davidson’s tattoo represents, if anything? Sound off in the comments below.
