Pokémon channels corgi-like cuteness in new 'Sword,' 'Shield' character

Earlier today during E3 2019 Nintendo Direct and Nintendo Treehouse Live, we learned more about the highly anticipated Pokémon Sword and Shield. From details on Dynamax Raids to the identity of a new gym leader, there was one reveal that stood out among fans a little more than all the rest.

There’s a new good boy in the world of Pokémon.

Both games are available for attendees to demo in Nintendo’s booth at E3, with a few taking to Twitter to share their important findings of a new electric-type Pokémon called Yamper that resembles a corgi.

One Twitter user shared Yamper’s Pokédex entry, and it’s perfect.

“If the Pokémon is not holding an item, it will fetch the Poke Ball from the first failed throw of the battle.”

And in case you were wondering, yes, you can Dynamax this good boy.

We also learned a bit more about the Wild Area, where the weather will impact battles and change which wild Pokémon appear.

Trainers will be able to whistle while in the area, which will make certain Pokémon stop, run away, or run towards the trainer. Whistling may also bring some flying types closer to you.

It was also revealed that Dynamax Pokémon will be able to use multiple moves in one turn and create barriers capable of preventing almost all damages.

We were also given the identity of a new Water-type gym leader, Nessa. Her “calm and collected attitude hides a competitive spirit and indomitable will that become apparent when she overwhelms opponents with powerful Water-type moves.”

Nessa uses a Drednaw, which is capable of being Dynamaxed.

Both games are slated to be released Nov. 15 of this year.
