Polyenso (formerly Oceana) stream calming new single, "Osaka Son"

It's still hard to believe for many that Polyenso were once a heavy, post-hardcore band known as Oceana. With a more drastic change in sound than even bands like Pianos Become The Teeth have progressed with in recent years, Polyenso emerged in 2012 with One Big Particular Loop, their smooth, indie rock debut LP under the new moniker.

In recent months, the band has been teasing their follow-up, titled Pure In The Plastic, and today they're streaming a new single (via Consequence Of Sound) to provide us with a four-and-a-half-minute taste of what's to come. In regards to the track, guitarist Alex Schultz tells CoS, “This song is about head versus heart. In this case, you’re focusing on the head. It’s about all of those things you do throughout your life—big and small—that may not fulfill your soul, but for the meantime, you’re content because you’ve satisfied some kind of immediate desire. Like sleeping with someone you don’t love, or spending frivolously on things outside of your means, or taking drugs …”

You can stream the ultra-relaxing “Osaka Son” below. Pure In The Plastic will be available this fall, yet no official release date has been revealed just yet.
