After Poppy unveiled the details of her third full-length studio album I Disagree earlier this week, she’s now dropped the title track’s twisted music video.

The album will be the musician’s follow-up to last year’s Am I a Girl? record. A few months ago, she also dropped her Choke EP.

The new track “I Disagree” shows her shift to a more metal-sound. In the video, we see Poppy being pressured by music executives to do things she doesn’t agree with. She lets out her grievances and starts jamming out in a conference room filled with bored-looking professionals.

The end shows the artist setting the people who were putting her down on fire, making the lyrics “Let it all burn down/Burn it to the ground” have a violent literal meaning.

You can see the video for “I Disagree” and read the lyrics below.

Lyrics

Watashi wa anata ni doi shimasen – わたしはあなたにどういしません。
Watashi wa anata ni doi shimasen –  わたしはあなたにどういしません。
Watashi wa anata ni doi shimasen –  わたしはあなたにどういしません。
Watashi wa anata ni doi shimasen –  わたしはあなたにどういしません。

I disagree
Everything you believe is a tragedy
I disagree
With the way you keep preaching insanity

I disagree
With all of the reasons you’re mad at me
I disagree
Everything in your life is a tragedy

Down
Let it all burn down
Burn it to the ground
We’ll be safe and sound
When it all burns down
Let it all burn down
Burn it to the ground
We’ll be safe and sound
When it all burns down

I disagree
With the way you continue to pressure me
I disagree
With the way you are failing to pleasure me
I disagree
Everything is going how it’s meant to be
I disagree
With the way you continue to pressure me

Burn it to the ground
We’ll be safe and sound

Let it all burn down
Burn it to the ground
We’ll be safe and sound
When it all burns down

If only all of you could see the world I see
Then maybe everyone could live in harmony

Watashi wa anata ni doi shimasen –  わたしはあなたにどういしません。
Watashi wa anata ni doi shimasen –  わたしはあなたにどういしません。
Watashi wa anata ni doi shimasen –  わたしはあなたにどういしません。

Burn it to the ground

Poppy has already played the new track at a show in London this year. You can see a fan-shot video of that below.

Poppy has already released “Concrete” from the album when she announced she’d be working with Sumerian for it. You can see the official music video for that below.

The artist recently spoke to Upset magazine about the upcoming record and the new sound of “Concrete”.

“We just wanted to see if we could one-up ‘X’. And I feel like we did,” Poppy said. “It’s a taste of what is to come on the new album, but we’re leaning harder into the heavier direction on the rest of the record, which is exciting. I feel like I’ve got to awaken this dormant creature inside of me.

I Disagree drops on January 10 via Sumerian Records. You can see the cover art below.
