Released back in 2017, “rockstar” is one of the songs that helped Post Malone’s career skyrocket over the years. It reached No.1 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 and was nominated for Record Of The Year at the 61st annual Grammy Awards. “rockstar” also won Song Of The Year at MTV‘s 2018 Video Music Awards.

Now, nearly three years after its release, the collaboration with 21 Savage has officially been certified with two billion streams on Spotify. Ed Sheeran‘s “Shape Of You” is the only other song to reach this milestone with over 2.5 billion streams. Following “rockstar” and “Shape Of You” is Drake‘s “One Dance” with 1.9 billion streams.

As his previous songs continue to smash records, Posty is hard at work on a new album. In an interview with WSJ Magazine, Malone revealed that the current times amid the coronavirus pandemic have greatly impacted the music he’s creating.

“I’m working on an album now,” he said. “There’s so much to say in these times that will give people hope and hopefully uplift people’s spirits. Because it’s a dark time in America. It’s a dark time in the world.”

His last release Hollywood’s Bleeding featured a slew of epic collabs with Halsey (“Die For Me”), Young Thug (“Goodbyes”), Travis Scott and Ozzy Osbourne (“Take What You Want”). The album went on to debut at No.1 on the Billboard 200.

Outside of music, Posty also recently turned his dentist office into a tattoo studio and reportedly has plans to launch a worldwide beer pong league.
