Post Malone 2018 emergency jet landing due to several safety violations

Post Malone had quite an eventful summer last year. The rapper attended the 2018 VMAs where he collabed onstage with Aerosmith and received both an award and a Panic! At The Disco poker chip.

Following the awards show, Posty departed from New Jersey’s Teterboro Airport for London for his Reading & Leeds set. However, shortly after takeoff, the jet’s tires blew and it was forced to make an emergency landing. Now, we’re getting more information on the cause behind the emergency.

The Federal Aviation Administration filed a report on the incident, which TMZ obtained. While the emergency landing followed by a string of bad luck (serious car crash, failed robbery, etc.) had the Ghost Adventures host alleging Malone was actually cursed, it turns out that wasn’t exactly the case.

In the report, the jet’s blown tires were confirmed as well as several errors by the flight crew. The FAA states one of the plane’s doors wasn’t properly shut, which caused the first premature landing. During the second takeoff, two tires on the left side exploded leading to the second emergency landing. The plane stayed in the air for hours, rerouting to Westfield, Massachusetts to burn off fuel before safely landing at Stewart Airport in New York.

Malone’s jet included 12 passengers, two pilots and one flight attendant. The FAA states the plane was too heavy, which caused the tires to explode.

The report also states multiple safety procedures were ignored including overdue maintenance on the tires, and the plane itself was also overdue for a maintenance check by 50 hours. It also says the flight crew only waited 20-30 minutes before taking off the second time, which didn’t allow the brakes enough time to cool down.

The plane safely touched down around 4 p.m. EST after hours of hovering, and the rapper tweeted to his fans and those who wished him ill very soon after.

“I landed guys,” he says. “Thank you for your prayers. Can’t believe how many people wished death on me on this website. Fuck you. But not today.”

More on Post Malone

Post Malone may be worrying about his song leaking in a leaked Kanye West collab and going diamond with “Congratulations,” but the rapper still has time to rock out at the Story So Far and Basement.

Posty was spotted at the bands’ gig in Australia where they were playing their final stop of the tour in Perth.

Kelen Keller of The Story So Far shared a photo of the rapper backstage at the show.

And Basement responded on Twitter to a photo of him at the show.

As we know, he’s pretty interested in the scene (remember that time he and Bring Me The Horizon potentially did a collab? Or the iconic Twitter exchange between him and Underoath?) So, it would be pretty cool to see him try to integrate some of our scene in his next project.

After all, we all know Post is a scene kid at heart.
