Punk music being used in luxury car commercial

Honda has begun a marketing campaign for its luxury brand Acura that uses punk music. In the commercial for their TLX sedan, a punk cover of Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” by Sex Pistol Sid Vicious is used to highlight the car’s development. If he had lived past 21, it’s interesting to think what Vicious would’ve thought about his song being used to promote a luxury automobile.

This isn’t the first time the Sex Pistols have showed up in a commercial, though: Johnny Rotten once did a butter commercial. You can watch the full Acura ad below. Does punk music belong in commercials (let alone ones for luxury cars)? Let us know your thoughts.
