A member of Pussy Riot has been arrested for the second time in a month, this time for being suspected of damaging government property.

Nika Nikulshina, a member of the Russian punk activist group, was taken while at her friends house, which the band says “for no reason.”

A report by Meduza says that officials wanted to question Nikulshina after “a group of young people have damaged a piece of government property.” Along with the performer, her friends were taken into custody as well.

“Pussy Riot’s member Nika Nikulshina is arrested AGAIN. At her friends’ house. For no reason. Nika and her 4 friends are at the police station now,” the group wrote on Facebook.

The group updated fans hours later. They said their fellow member was going to have to sleep at the police station.

Pussy Riot’s Nika and her 4 friends will spend this night at the police station. The police doesn’t provide any plausible explanations why,” the caption reads.

Other Pussy Riot news

Earlier this year two members of Pussy Riot and their children were denied political asylum in Sweden.

Last year, Alexey Knedlyakovsky and Lusine Djanyan fled Russia after being “systematically arrested at home.” According to one of Pussy Riot’s most visible members, Nadya Tolokonnikova, the couple didn’t want to put their child in danger as they had been targeted by right-wing activists multiple times for criticizing Vladimir Putin.

Most notably, Knedlyakovsky and Djanyan were whipped and beaten by the Cossack militia for their performance during 2014’s Sochi Olympics. According to Tolokonnikova, Djanyan was attacked the most because he was wearing a dress in solidarity of LGBT and queer folks.

Just last September, another Pussy Riot member was hospitalized for poisoning. Luckily activist member Peter Verzilov was released from the hospital after his partner caught the symptoms quickly.
