Quentin Tarantino picks his favorite songs from ‘Pulp Fiction,’ more

Filmmaker Quentin Tarantino has shared a huge playlist of all his favorite music from his own movies and it includes some of our favorites.

The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood director took over Spotify’s Film & TV Favorites playlist to share all of the songs.

The lengthy playlist includes 70 songs from Tarantino’s nine total films.

Among those on the playlist include tracks from Soundgarden, David Bowie and more. You can listen to it below.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is Tarantino’s ninth film and uses the Manson Family murders as a backdrop.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood takes place in 1969 in Los Angeles and stars Pitt and DiCaprio in the lead roles. As previously reported, DiCaprio plays Rick Dalton, a “former star of a western TV series.” Pitt is Cliff Booth, who is Dalton’s “longtime stunt double.” The two characters are “struggling to make it in a Hollywood they don’t recognize anymore. But Rick has a very famous next-door neighbor… Sharon Tate.”

Robbie stars as Sharon Tate, an actress who was killed along with several others who were apart of Manson’s cult. Actor Damon Herriman plays Manson in the film.

The films cast also includes Al Pacino, Timothy Olyphant, Kurt Russell, Lena Dunham, Dakota Fanning and many more.

Charles Manson, who died back in November, was the leader of the Manson Family, a murderous cult. The cult was connected with the murders of actress Tate, who was pregnant at the time. Also, they allegedly murdered several others in Los Angeles during July and August of 1969.

The film was released last Friday. It was initially set to appear in theaters on August 9, the 50th anniversary of the murder of Tate and her friends. However, it was moved to avoid possible controversy.

More Tarantino news

Quentin Tarantino has been in a habit lately of talking about projects that haven’ been announced yet, this time, discussing the future of the Kill Bill franchise.

Last week, Tarantino offered up an idea of what his version of Star Trek would be, and it sounded like nothing we’ve ever seen before.

In an interview with Cinema Blend, Tarantino talked yet again about his desire to create a Star Trek movie.

The director said he’s considered making the movie his last film. He said it’d be rated-R, which was inspired by the success of Deadpool, which was also rated-R.

“Deadpool showed that you can rethink these things, do them in a different way,” Tarantino said. “So really, even before JJ [Abrams] knew what the idea was, his feeling was, if it wants to be an R rating, fine. If it wants to be The Wild Bunch in space, fine.”

He continued, saying it would still feel like a Quentin Tarantino movie, and brought up comments Simon Pegg has made that a Star Trek made by the director wouldn’t be too Tarantino.

“I get annoyed at Simon Pegg. He doesn’t know anything about what’s going on and he keeps making all these comments as if he knows about stuff. One of the comments he said, he’s like “Well, look, it’s not going to be Pulp Fiction in space.” Yes, it is! If I do it, that’s exactly what it’ll be,” he said.

“It’ll be Pulp Fiction in space. That Pulp Fiction-y aspect, when I read the script, I felt, I have never read a science fiction movie that has this sh*t in it, ever. There’s no science fiction movie that has this in it. And they said, I know, that’s why we want to make it. It’s, at the very least, unique in that regard.”

Then, he opened up again, this time about making a Kill Bill Vol. 3.

He was on the Happy Sad Confused podcast recently to talk about Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. On the podcast, he talked about speaking with Uma Thurman about the possibility of a third film.

“Me and Uma have been talking about it recently, frankly, to tell you the truth,” Tarantino said.  “I’m not sure I’m going to do it but I have thought about it a little further.”

“If any of my movies were going to spring from any of my movies,” he added, “it would be the third Kill Bill.”

He sounds serious, but who knows if it will ever actually happened. But at least if it does, at least it sounds like Thurman will be onboard to reprise her iconic role.

Kill Bill Vol. 2 made it debut back in 2004, so it would also be interesting to see how the gap would affect the plot of a third film.
