Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is set to have its premiere at Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday, and Quentin Tarantino has asked the audience who gets to see it early to not give away any spoilers.

Sony Pictures tweeted the statement with the hashtag #NoSpoilersInHollywood.

“I love Cinema. You love Cinema. It’s the journey of discovering a story for the first time,” Taratino’s statement begins.

“I’m thrilled to be here in Cannes to share ‘Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood’ with the festival audience,” he continues. “The cast and crew have worked so hard to create something original, and I only ask that everyone avoids revealing anything that would prevent later audiences from experiencing the film in the same way.”

The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio and  Brad Pitt, who each were just featured in new posters for the film that takes place within the film. You can check those out below.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood takes place in 1969 in Los Angeles and stars Pitt and DiCaprio in the lead roles. As previously reported, DiCaprio is set to play Rick Dalton, a “former star of a western TV series.” Pitt will play Cliff Booth, who is Dalton’s “longtime stunt double.” The two characters are “struggling to make it in a Hollywood they don’t recognize anymore. But Rick has a very famous next-door neighbor… Sharon Tate.”

Margot Robbie will star as Sharon Tate, an actress who was killed along with several others who were apart of Manson’s cult. It was recently announced that actor Damon Herriman will play Manson in the film.

The films cast also includes Al Pacino, Timothy Olyphant, Kurt Russell, Lena Dunham, Dakota Fanning and many more.

Charles Manson, who died back in November, was the leader of the Manson Family, a murderous cult. The cult was connected with the murders of actress Tate, who was pregnant at the time. Also, they allegedly murdered several others in Los Angeles during July and August of 1969.

The film will be released July 26. It was initially set to appear in theaters on August 9, the 50th anniversary of the murder of Tate and her friends. However, it was moved to avoid possible controversy.

The movie also just debuted its first teaser trailer, which you can check out below.

Other Once Upon A Time in Hollywood news

The late Riverdale actor Luke Perry will appear in the film that debuts this summer, which was apparently a bucket-list role for him.

In anticipation for the film’s summer release, producers David Heyman and Shannon McIntosh have discussed some details about it. Their interview with Entertainment Weekly revealed more about Perry’s role in the movie.

Perry plays Scott Lancer, who is in one of the shows DiCaprio’s character stars in. His character pays homage to the CBS Western series Lancer which was on-air in the late 60s.

“(Perry) brings a very vivid character who is charismatic, and he brings heart to whatever he does. I think that it will be a pleasure for those fans of Luke to see,” Heyman said.

McIntosh continued, saying that working with Tarantino was a “bucket list for Luke.”

“Luke went in and won that part and deserved that part and owned that part, so it’s really special that was a bucket list that he was able to work with Quentin,” McIntosh said. “His performance is amazing and he will be remembered as we release this movie, and his family will celebrate his performance with us.”

Perry died in March at age 52. The week prior to his death, it was reported that Perry suffered a massive stroke and was hospitalized.

Following his death, the Riverdale showrunners have honored the star by paying homage to Perry by dedicating all future episodes to him. They also said they want to take time to address his death in the show.
