Rami Malek in "final negotiations" to play villain in 'Bond 25'

According to “well-placed sources”, the Collider reports that Malek is set up to play the lead villain in the new 007 film, which is expected to be Bond actor Daniel Craig’s last go at the role.

Variety had previously reported that Malek was being eyed for the role, but his shooting schedule for Mr. Robot conflicted with the film. He was also never “officially” offered the part.

Now it seems his newly-acquired Oscars status might have helped seal the deal, with WME negotiating the shooting schedule to allow Malek to work on both productions.

Production for Bond 25 is now set to begin in April, with the film’s release date being pushed back to April 2020 after reports of script rewrites.

No real details about the villain role have been revealed, although rumors are speculating that the character could be blind.

Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody won big at the Oscars.

The film was nominated for five awards including Best Picture. It won four out of five of those awards.

Rami Malek won the award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his portrayal of lead singer Freddie Mercury. He thanked Queen and said he is “forever in [their] debt” for allowing him to play Mercury.

“We made a film about a gay man, an immigrant who lived his life just unapologetically himself,” Malek said about Mercury.

The film won for both Sound Editing and Sound Mixing. John Warhurst bragged about working with the band when he accepted the Editing award.

Sound engineer Paul Massey gave a “massive shoutout to Brian May and Roger Taylor.”

The film also took home the award for Best Film Editing, although many had questioned that win after watching a particular scene within the movie.
