Hunger Games-like battle is coming to life with this millionaire's plan

An extremely rich individual is working to create their own real-life version of the Hunger Games in the form of a massive, IRL battle royale event.

A listing on luxury shopping website Hush Hush is seeking someone to design an arena for a real-world 100-person battle royale, much like you’d see in the popular Hunger Games series or video games like PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. Once built, players would compete in the arena while wearing touch-sensitive armor meant to detect when they get tagged.

When tagged, players would be removed from the game and thus eliminated, much like the way video game counterparts work. The goal is to be the last person standing. The competition would stretch over three days for 12 hours each day, and then a final combatant would be crowned winner. There’s no information on how the contestants would be forced closer, because there’s no guarantee the competition would be over in three days and everyone out of the game by then – this is why the “storm” exists in games like Fornite.

“Battle Royale games have become incredibly popular over the last few years ago and our customer is a huge fan who wants to make the game a reality in the safest way possible. If the championship is a success this year, it’s something he wants to make an annual event moving forward, which is very exciting,” said Hush Hush founder Aaron Harpin on the listing. “If you’re a fan of last-person-standing movies and games, it’ll be a great opportunity to have a once in a lifetime experience and earn a significant amount of money. However, to get there, our concierge team needs some help to make it a reality.”

If the event does come to fruition, the unknown party planning to fund it is thinking about turning it into a yearly event, with registration open to individuals who want to take part. It sounds a little crazy to us, but hey – it could turn out to be something awesome.
