Real Friends attend depressing birthday party in new video for "Sixteen"

Tinley Park's Real Friends have premiered a new video for their song “Sixteen” over at Billboard today. The heartbreaking track is off the band's 2014 Fearless Records full-length, Maybe This Place Is The Same, And We're Just Changing.

Fittingly poignant and almost hard to watch, the video accompaniment to “Sixteen” finds a teen in a bowling alley, preparing to celebrate his sixteenth birthday with guests who never show up. The candles on the cake continue to melt down as vocalist Dan Lambton sits not far from the birthday boy, singing “The saddest part is I've been distant since I was sixteen / It keeps me up in bed / I'm stuck here with all the choices I've made / And the chances I was too afraid to take.” The video really makes the lyrics hit harder than ever.
