A Mission: Impossible star is in talks to join the upcoming film adaptation of Stephen King‘s The Shining sequel, Doctor Sleep.
As previously reported, McGregor has been cast as the adult Danny Torrance in the movie, which will be helmed by director Mike Flanagan, who put his stamp on Netflix‘s recent adaptation of King’s Gerald’s Game. An expected release date for the new film is still under wraps.
It is still unknown who Ferguson will be playing in the movie.
Doctor Sleep, published in 2013, begins as the spiritually-enhanced Torrance “carries the trauma of the Overlook Hotel into adulthood,” per Variety. Child actor Danny Lloyd play Torrance in the 1980 film version of The Shining.
