Technology has revolutionized the way we consume music in the past decade, but according to record sales, that hasn't greatly affected our tastes.

There have been slight shifts, like the recent rise of electronic music and success of festival bands, but a graph of the Nielsen Soundscan via Digital Music News shows genre consistencies over the years (with “Rock” category being reintroduced in 2006):
