Red Hot Chili Peppers are already planning a follow-up to ‘Unlimited Love’

Red Hot Chili Peppers haven’t even released their April 1 album Unlimited Love yet. However, the band have announced they already have a vision for the next project.

“We’re gonna put out music by the handful,” Anthony Kiedis tells NME. “Literally. Don’t be surprised if another wheelbarrow of songs comes your way in the near future… We have a lot of shit to turn people onto.”

John Frusciante added there was a “loose plan” for an immediate follow-up to Unlimited Love, as the band “recorded almost 50 pieces of music” during sessions for the new album with producer Rick Rubin.

“We definitely have enough material that we love,” Frusciante says. He also said the potential follow-up has a “relaxed energy that’s distinct from the intensity of the record that we’ve made here.”

Unlimited Love is the band’s first record with Frusciante since 2006’s Stadium Arcadium. He left the band in 2009 but returned 10 years later.
