'Rick And Morty' season 5 is already in the works ahead of season 4 drop

First, EW dropped the two stills from the fourth season ahead of the sho’s San Diego Comic-Con panel on Friday. You can see them below.

Then, Harmon and Roiland gave fans some key plot details about the next season. They said that season 4 will have 10 episodes. Also, they’re apparently already working on a season five.

“We’re rolling right into the next batch. The plan has always been to get them out quicker,” Roiland said.

This is exciting for fans considering the gap between the third and fourth season is now at more than two and a half years.

They also talked about that gap and hinted at when we can expect the new seasons.

“I think it’s safe to say without fear of being wrong that the gap between seasons 3 and 4 will be the longest and last time that it’s ever so long that it’s ridiculous,” Harmon said. “I don’t know how fast we can do it, but I know it will never be this long again. There were so many things that had to be settled before we even started season 4, and it’s really safe to say — as Justin says — we’re literally writing season 5 while finishing season 4 just to force ourselves to commit to a certain schedule.”

“Not to get anyone’s hopes up, but it is structured into our deal that if we’re going strong and fast there are options to deliver more episodes at a time,” he continued. “Adult Swim can say, ‘These are on time and great. Do you want to do more instead of taking a break?’ And we can then do more. I’d like to see that day. Just knowing it’s possible makes me eager for it. I feel like a naughty boy when I’m late.”

We’ve known that the next season would be coming this November. However, the specific date has yet to be revealed.

In addition to the poster above, the Adult Swim show also unveiled a quick teaser. The video in question portrays the two animated main characters making the big announcement. You can watch that below.

In other Rick And Morty-related news, the show recently teamed up with Operation for a special edition of the popular buzzing board game. You can purchase the game on Amazon here.

Additionally, it was previously reported that Rick And Morty is apparently the deadliest show in streaming, with more deaths than actual horror shows like the Walking Dead and American Horror Story.

According to a report from BuzzBingo, the average number of deaths per episode on the show is 26.1.
