'Rick And Morty' goes straight to the heads of You Me At Six in new vid

English rockers You Me At Six explore a very Rick And Morty-style animated world in the new lyric video for “Straight To My Head.” It’s the third single proper from the band’s latest album, VI, following “3AM” and “Back Again.” Watch it below.

Directed by Peter Reeve, this is the act’s first-ever animated lyric video. And it contains various band callbacks beneath the Rick And Morty sheen. Plus, merging the band with the Adult Swim show proved to be a blast, notes the director.

“We’ve been long time fans of both You Me at Six and Rick And Morty,” Reeve says in a press release, “so when we had the chance to bring the two together we of course jumped at it! We had a lot of fun creating this and bringing together ideas from the band and using imagery from their back catalogue to create a crazy animation.”

Lead vocalist Josh Franceschi echoes Reeve’s enthusiasm for the animated visual. And he encourages the rock group’s fans to pore through the vid for various Easter eggs related to You Me At Six’s past work. Who knows what you might find?

“We’re excited to share our first ever animated music video,” the frontman shares. “And this is collectively our favorite song from the album. The video has some fun references in there to our other videos from this new album, too.”
