Rick And Morty fans, worry no more! The show just scored a massive 70-episode renewal from Adult Swim.
The show has been officially given a 70-episode deal that, per a report from the Hollywood Reporter, is more than double the amount of the show's previous episodes—meaning we'll be getting to see Rick and Morty's crazy adventures for quite some time.
Adult Swim's renewal of the show has been in the making for quite some time, but it looks like they were finally able to come up with a deal that satisfied both parties. Described as a “long-term deal,” we're sure that we'll be getting to see episodes of the show for years to come…not that we're complaining!
There's not a lot of details regarding the new deal, but we can only guess that the new episodes won't air until later in 2019. Either way, we're still beyond excited to see the show hit the small screen once more!
Check out the announcement:
The news follows a series of unknowns for the show's return to the small screen. The show's co-creator Dan Harmon recently shared his previous thoughts on the matter. During an interview with Kevin Smith on his “Smodcast” show, Harmon shared the real reason why the show hasn't been written yet.
“The reason why we we're not working on Rick And Morty right now ain't because I figured out that I don't need to impress you,” Harmon told Kevin Smith on his “Smodcast” show, ComicBook.com reports. “It's a little something called contract negotiations, and it's gotten complicated this time around.”
This makes sense, of course. Rick And Morty has easily turned into one of the biggest, if not the biggest, show on Adult Swim.
Replying to a fan’s angry tweet about the show not getting written in a timely manner, Harmon responded saying: “It can be challenging…to write a show that hasn’t been ordered by a network.”
I hear ya, tough spot. On one hand, it can be challenging, especially with crippling lazy alcoholism, to write a show that hasn’t been ordered by a network. On the other hand, the thought that fans like you pay the price…I mean…I’m gonna grab a drink https://t.co/mvn9nthxCE

The news comes as a huge surprise to many fans. The show is easily one of the highest rated shows on the network, even scoring an average of 97 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
In just three short seasons, Rick And Morty has gained a massive following, and its fans have been a driving force in a lot of Rick And Morty related news—like being responsible for McDonald’s bringing back the show’s highly popular Szechuan sauce.
We’re pretty stoked to see the show coming back!
