'Riverdale’ season 5 confirmed among the CW renewals

Riverdale has been renewed by the CW for a fifth season. The Archie Comics adaptation was early renewed yesterday. In addition, the CW also called for Riverdale spinoff Katy Keene to receive 13 additional scripts. Katy Keene is set to premiere Feb. 06.

Riverdale’s fourth season is currently airing on the CW, while the cast is shooting the second half of the season. No other details have been confirmed but we can hope we’ll see season five sometime in October of 2020.

The CW granted early renewal to its entire slate of scripted shows. Batwoman and Nancy Drew, All American, Black Lightning, Charmed, DC’S Legends of Tomorrow, Dynasty, The Flash, In the Dark, Legacies, Riverdale, Roswell, New Mexico, and Supergirl were all renewed.

Riverdale‘s fourth season is currently airing and follows all of our favorites during their senior year. The show took to Twitter to announce its early renewal by the CW.

With season four taking place during the senior year of the gang, fans are questioning what will happen with season five.  Will the gang go off to college? Will something in Riverdale force them to remain? Everything is pure speculation because we haven’t even wrapped up the fourth season yet.

The spinoff series Katy Keene stars Lucy Hale (Pretty Little Liars). This is a strong vote of confidence from the CW considering that the show has not yet aired. It is slated to do so Feb. 06. Katy Keene follows the lives of four Archie Comics characters as they navigate the struggles and successes of following their dreams in New York City.

As stated, Riverdale is currently airing its fourth season which began in October 2019. It began with the characters looking for Jughead, but they have little-to-no leads on what could’ve happened to him.

However, it later reveals he’s possibly buried alive somewhere, but who really knows.

Besides Jughead’s disappearance, we see Betty getting hit in the head with a gun by an unknown attacker, which is given little context. Also, Veronica gets herself into some trouble again, and while it’s unclear the extent of her latest scandal, we know it can’t be good.

If you’re way behind, watch the trailer for the fourth season of Riverdale below.
