If you're in the same boat like us, fear not. It appears that a novel series of the beloved show and comic series will soon be hitting stands in bookstores near you. According to Entertainment Weekly, Scholastic, a massive publishing company focused on children's books, has acquired “world and all language rights” to start publishing original and companion series to the show.

The first book to be released from the company will be the Aug. 28 release of the Riverdale Student Handbook, a book that will give fans an in-depth look into surviving the ups and downs of attending Riverdale High.

Following the handbook will be Riverdale: The Day Before – The Prequel Novel, a young-adult novel that gives fans an insight into what life in the town of Riverdale was like before the start of The CW's show. Written by Micol Ostow, the book is slated to come just in time for the holiday season, per the EW report. It will be written in multiple points of views with pretty epic bonus content, including Josie's lyrics, Hiram Lodge’s arrest record, snippets of Jughead’s novel and notes between Betty and Veronica.

Yeah, we definitely wouldn't mind knowing what our favorite teens were getting up to prior to when we joined them.

Speaking of the new deal, Debra Dorfman, Vice President and Publisher of Global Licensing, Media and Brands at Scholastic, told EW in a statement that bringing the dramatic world of the Riverdale teens to Scholastic seemed like a perfect next step for the company, saying:

“I grew up reading Archie Comics and always wanted to be Veronica,” Dorfman said. “When I heard that Riverdale was going to be a new teen drama I immediately knew that Scholastic and Archie would make great partners. Both companies have been able to withstand the test of time, creating life-long readers and fans.”

We're beyond excited for the book adaptations!
