Rob Zombie will “absolutely not” be playing new songs on tour

Rob Zombie is gearing up to drop his highly-anticipated next album, but apparently, we won’t hear any of the songs on his upcoming tour.

Even though the record is done, Zombie does not plan on debuting the songs before it drops. The release date has yet to be announced.

He told Revolver that he was “absolutely not” previewing any songs on his upcoming tour with Marilyn Manson.

First of all, nobody wants to go to concerts and hear songs they don’t know. Nobody — and if they say they do, they’re full of shit!” he said. “Second, if you do that, everybody films it and puts it on YouTube, and starts prejudging something they don’t even know about. When we do put it out, we’ll put it out perfectly. You’ll have your record, your artwork, your videos and yada, yada, yada.”

He then went on to talk about how releasing music now is so much different than it was 30 years ago.

“In some ways, more people are enjoying your music, you just don’t feel it until you finally play a show. So it’s all good. It’s just different. I can’t complain about the music business,” he said. “When I hear people complain about it, I just want to jump out a window…It’s always changing, man. And if you’re gonna sit around and complain about the changes, the friggin’ parade is going to pass you by.”

More Rob Zombie news

Rob Zombie dropped several sneak peeks at his upcoming 3 From Hell ahead of the first official teaser last month. While the first clip and release date have been revealed, that doesn’t mean Zombie is done with the teasers.

The director/musician took to his social media to share another look at a character, and this time, it’s not one of the Firefly threesome.

The series of horror movies started with 2003’s House Of 1000 Corpses and continued with 2005’s The Devil’s Rejects, both also by Zombie. Fans have been waiting for the next film for more than ten years, and the first trailer highlights the two past films.

While the trailer follows Sheri Moon Zombie as Baby Firefly, Sid Haig as Captain Spaulding and Bill Moseley as Otis Firefly, there are a few glimpses of some fresh blood.

One said character is seen wearing a Lucha libre wrestler-like mask and firing off a gun. Now, Zombie is sharing more information on the character played by Emilio Rivera.

“Meet Aquarius, leader of The Black Satans played by @emiliorivera48,” Zombie writes on Instagram. “This cat does not mess around. I wonder how he fits into the world of 3 FROM HELL ????”

Rivera is best known for portraying Marcus Alvarez in Sons Of Anarchy and Mayans M.C. spinoff. He also has roles in Venom and Z Nation. Check out his 3 From Hell look below.
