As previously reported, Pattinson is starring as Batman in the next version of the superhero’s film which is described as a “noir-driven detective movie.”
Twilight fans have backed the decision to cast Robert Pattinson so much they even wanted Twilight co-star Taylor Lautner, who played Jacob Black in the vampire saga, to join him.
Some people weren’t as ecstatic though, with a petition to remove Pattinson from the film gaining a bit of traction last year.
It was reported back in October that the role of Catwoman in the Matt Reeves-directed film would be handled by Zoe Kravitz.
Then earlier this month, we got our first look at the new Batman with a camera test of Pattinson wearing the suit.
Originally, Warner Bros. was torn between Pattinson and Nicholas Hoult (Warm Bodies, X-Men: First Class) asking for both actors to be taped before making their decision.

The upcoming trilogy will have no connection to Ben Affleck’s Batman but instead, focus on Bruce Wayne in the formative stages of Batman.
“He’s supposed to be the world’s greatest detective, and that’s not necessarily been a part of what the movies have been,” says director Matt Reeves. “I’d love this to be one where when we go on that journey of tracking down the criminals and trying to solve a crime, it’s going to allow his character to have an arc so that he can go through a transformation.”
During an interview with Variety in September, Pattinson revealed what it was like putting on the iconic suit for the first time.

“I put it on. I remember saying to Matt, ‘It does feel quite transformative,’” Pattinson says. “He was like, ‘I would hope it does! You’re literally in the Batsuit.’ You do feel very powerful immediately. And it’s pretty astonishing, something that is incredibly difficult to get into, so the ritual of getting into it is pretty humiliating.”
“You’ve got five people trying to shove you into something. Once you’ve got it on, it’s like, ‘Yeah, I feel strong, I feel tough, even though I had to have someone squeezing my butt cheeks into the legs.’”
Now we’re getting an even closer look at the fine details of the Batsuit in all of its glory. Take a look at an on-set photo below.

Fans are torn about the look of the new suit, with some loving it and others wishing they could get back Ben Affleck as Batman. Take a look at some of the reactions going around below.
I like it. And if it’s early in his career it makes sense that the suit would look a little clunky. Also no effects or color correction. Lets all relax.

I’ve come to accept that Batman “fans” will never be happy. With Affleck it was “he’s been Batman 20 years?? We missed out on all those great stories!”. Now with Pats, “He’s just starting out?? Bullshit! I want a perfectly formed, Wayne tech built batsuit!!” Never happy ??♂️??♂️

Ok I think WBs plan to release CW quality cinema needs to end before they destroy the brand completely. Afflecks Batman is a million times better and the screenplay he was going with was going to be epic. #ReleaseTheSnyderCut and get Zack and Ben back.
