Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World director Edgar Wright is spilling some behind-the-scenes secrets about the 2010 film. In a new interview, Wright reveals that Robert Pattinson auditioned for the role of Lucas Lee.

When the first Twilight film was released in 2008, Pattinson quickly skyrocketed to international fame. However, prior to the franchise’s release, Pattinson auditioned for a role in 2010’s Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World.

Pattinson auditioned to play Lucas Lee, a role that ended up going to Chris Evans. As Wright shares in an interview for Vanity Fair, both actors gave very different auditions for the character.

“I remember it vividly,” Wright says. “He [Pattinson] did a much more intense read of it as well. Obviously, Robert is an incredible actor and someone who I’d love to work with now. But it was a very different take from what Chris did.”

Casting director Allison Jones further details discussing Twilight with Pattinson during his Scott Pilgrim audition. According to Jones, Pattinson seemed rather indifferent about the film that was about to kickstart his career as a well-known international actor.

“I remember we were asking him about Twilight, and he was like, ‘Yeah, I don’t know. I just saw it. It’s okay, I guess. I don’t know,’” Jones says.

Jones also commends the British actor on the accent skills he demonstrated during his audition.

“He was really good at an American accent,” she says.

Along with sharing behind-the-scenes secrets, Wright is also revealing some behind-the-scenes photos. In celebration of the film’s 10-year anniversary, the director took to social media to share some photos on the set and during the press tour for Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World.

The photos feature the film’s cast including Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Mae Whitman, Anna Kendrick, Jason Schwartzman and more.

“10 years ago today #ScottPilgrimVsTheWorld was released,” Wright says. “Looking back on this magical voyage, I’m even more grateful to have made a crazy movie with Universal with THIS cast & crew. To thank all the fans this last decade, for the next 24 hours or so I bring you the epicness of these behind the scenes photos.#scottpilgrimis10
