Rumored new Slipknot drummer called “s**tbag” by Against Me!’s Laura Jane Grace
Heavy rumors (and images to back it up) have been circulating that Max Weinberg’s son, Jay Weinberg, is the new drummer of Slipknot (pictured). It is not officially confirmed yet, though.
Weinberg used to be the drummer for Florida punks Against Me! until he left the band in 2012. Back in January, Agaisnt Me! frontwoman Laura Jane Grace told SPIN, “I just woke up one morning and read on Twitter that he was leaving the band.”
Today, amidst the rumors of Weinberg joining Slipknot, Grace said on Twitter, “Dear Slipknot, good luck with that.” She then used the hashtag “shitbag.” Grace then went on a series of mocking tweets in the style of “We once had a drummer…” You can read all of LJG’s tweets below. Let us know what you think.
Slipknot will release their upcoming fifth studio album, .5: The Gray Chapter, Oct. 21 via Roadrunner Records. Recently, the band released a closer look at all of their new masks. Both the new drummer and bassist, however, will wear matching masks.
