There’s a lot of mystery surrounding the forthcoming season of American Horror Story. Production for season 10 was set to begin this past spring. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, filming was delayed until the fall.

Murphy previously shared that season 10’s original plot was greatly dependent on warmer weather. Since production resumed this fall during the colder months, Murphy had to reevaluate a lot of details.

“A lot of what I was going to shoot was dependent on a very specific moment,” Murphy said. “It was a weather-dependent show. So now I don’t know. I don’t know what we’re going to do, don’t know what I’m going to do next with that show. I don’t know if I’ll accelerate another season or wait til next year to shoot this one.”

Prior to this news, Murphy had already shared various hints about season 10’s theme. However, seeing as many details surrounding the season have likely changed, it’s unknown if these clues still allude to the final theme we will see play out in season 10.

Nevertheless, Murphy just shared a new clue about the upcoming American Horror Story season. On Tuesday, he unveiled season 10’s official poster that includes a fang-filled mouth getting a tongue tattoo.

As well, Murphy tagged the post in Provincetown, Massachusetts, a location fans began theorizing about earlier this year.

The fang teeth in the poster also relate back to a similar image that Murphy shared on Instagram back in August.

However, some fans have noticed that the season 10 poster looks strikingly similar to the posters for Freak Show and Hotel which both feature an open mouth.

Despite the theories that have started to swirl, Murphy has squashed any hope fans have for a crossover in this new AHS season. One fan commented on Murphy’s Instagram post, noting that the season 10 poster looks very similar to ones from past seasons. Murphy, however, had the best response.
