Variety revealed the news writing, “The CW and Warner Bros. Television are developing a new one-hour drama based around the character for the 2018-2019 season,”

It's no surprise that following the success of The CW's Riverdale, that they would have the idea to bring Sabrina the Teenage Witch back, as Sabrina also finds her origins in the Archie Comics. Variety writes, “the series is described as being tonally in the vein of horror classics like “Rosemary’s Baby” and “The Exorcist,” and will see Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature as a half-witch, half-mortal  while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family, and the daylight world humans inhabit.”

We're not going to lie, that sounds amazing.

Currently, Lee Toland Krieger along with Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Jon Goldwater have all been tapped as executive producers of the upcoming series. All of them are currently involved with Riverdale as either executive producers or in Krieger's case, directed episodes of the series.

Now, it's important to note that the show hasn't been chosen to go to series yet, but considering how successful Riverdale has been, along with how many producers from Riverdale are scheduled to work on the show, it wouldn't surprise us if it became an actual series!

If you're interested in what the show might be like, then you're in luck, as Variety reports that the series would be based on the comic series, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina , which currently features eight issues. After hearing this news, we're definitely heading out to our local comic book store.
