Watch Saosin and former vocalist Cove Reber reunite onstage

Scene rockers Saosin gave some lucky concertgoers a Christmastime thrill earlier this week when their former vocalist Cove Reber surprisingly joined them onstage to perform a pair of fan-favorite tunes from the band’s early efforts.

Appearing alongside original and current frontman Anthony Green at the first night of Saosin’s special holiday shows this past Sunday in Southern California, Reber emerged onstage to sing “You’re Not Alone” from the band’s 2006 debut.

Green played bass on the throwback cut, borrowing the axe of bassist Chris Sorenson while giving Reber the spotlight. But both vocalists took to the mic for an energetic run-through of “Seven Years,” a track from Saosin’s first EP. Watch it below:

And this isn’t the first time Saosin have reached back to their past to mark a unique performance. Green and the group dusted off the originally Reber-sung “Voices,” also from their initial full-length, at a sold-out SoCal stand a year ago.

Green, who returned to the band in 2014 after starting Circa Survive, was the group’s founding vocalist. But Reber replaced him in 2004, performing on both the band’s self-titled album and its 2009 follow-up, In Search Of Solid Ground.

Since leaving Saosin in 2010, Reber started a project called Patriot before regrouping his musical endeavors under the name Dead American starting last year. Dead American’s debut EP The Shape Of Punk Is Dumb is out now.

What do you think of the two Saosin vocalists teaming up onstage to perform the pair of throwback tracks? Do you still rock out to the group’s earlier releases?
