The release, titled Christmas Has Been Canceled Due to Lack of Hustle, is available for streaming today via Pure Noise Records.

Vocalist Buddy Nielsen offered his thoughts on the history of Christmas covers as well as their two new tracks.

“My step father has been telling me for 20 years that the only way to make it in the music industry is to do Christmas covers,” Nielsen says in a statement. “He would point out Paul McCartney, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra and WAM as prime examples of musicians who did them right. He wasn’t wrong but I wasn’t in any rush. Christmas songs are best sung in July and when it comes time for them, I’m usually burnt out, however, this year, there wasn’t much to sing about or celebrate so I reserved my carols for these songs. I chose the two greatest Christmas songs that few know and even fewer cover. I was once told that if you build it they will come, I have built it and I hope you come. Happy Holidays and fuck 2020.”

Senses Fail are no strangers to special holiday releases either, with the band pairing with Saves The Day for their Through Being Ghoul split. The release included reimagined versions of classic Misfits songs to get fans ready for their Halloween weekend.

While Senses Fail Christmas songs are fun to check out, the band are still hard at work putting together their next album. The followup to 2018’s If There Is Light, It Will Find You has been delayed due to the pandemic, but luckily for fans, Senses Fail have enough material for two full albums now. No release date has been set but fans can expect new music in the near future.
