Set It Off singer Cody Carson reveals vocal injury, decision to continue tour

Ahead of kicking off the third leg of the Midnight World Tour, Set It Off vocalist Cody Carson shared news of a health problem that could affect his performance on upcoming shows.

On a video posted to Twitter, the frontman explains a vocal injury he suffered on the final date of leg two.

Carson was diagnosed with a vocal hemorrhage, causing him to go on vocal rest between the second and third legs of the tour.

Despite not getting the full medical clearance to perform, Carson says he couldn’t imagine disappointing fans for part three of the Midnight run.

“My doctor did advise me to not go on this tour but to be honest with you I just didn’t have it in me to not go for it at least,” he says.

Despite the setback, Carson assured followers that he won’t be pulling any punches in the upcoming performances.

“I am really excited to be on this run and of course, I’m slightly nervous because I’ve never been in this position before,” Carson says. “But I will be giving you my all every show, and I need your help. If you know the words, sing loud for me.”

The singer also noted that he will be on vocal rest between sets, assuring fans his silence isn’t intentional.

“I’ll be doing everything in my power to take care of myself so don’t take it personally if I’m not talking,” he added. “I’m not in a bad mood or anything, I’m just doing my best to take care of myself.”

The tour kicked off last night in Colorado Springs, featuring a new opener added for the beginning of the third leg. Selfish Things will help shoulder support duties for about half the North American dates.

The band will also be touring without guitarist Dan Clermont, who will be “taking a hiatus” to spend time with family amid recent allegations. It is also stated he will “pursue this privately [and] legally.”

Set It Off will be stopping for Sad Summer Festival between tour dates this summer, joining for the Orlando, FL date. Tickets for the tour are on sale now, with a full list of dates below.
