See Sharon Osbourne instantly know the Banana on ‘The Masked Singer’

The iconic Banana has been eliminated from The Masked Singer. Who was it though? Well, Poison‘s only Bret Michaels. The funny thing about his reveal is that the guest judge happened to be Sharon Osbourne. Having known the rockstar for 35-years, she recognized his voice immediately.

Coincidentally, Bret Michaels sang Bob Dylan‘s “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door” on the 10-year anniversary of his brain hemorrhage survival. He thinks that’s pretty cool.

The Masked Singer is known for its wacky costumed singers and even wackier guesses by the panel of judges. Some highlights thus far have been incorrect Brendon Urie guesses, incorrect Travis Barker and Tony Hawk guesses and seemingly incorrect Gerard Way guesses (we’ll find that out soon enough).

Now though, we’re dealing with a correct guess coming from a guest judge. Sharon Osbourne was perhaps the best judge for the job, however, having been in the rock and roll circuit with Ozzy Osbourne for over 40 years.

Yes, they unmasked the Banana. The Banana was on quite a run having lasted this far in the competition. The Masked Singer is currently airing its third season and has featured a number of rather famous celebrities thus far. The likes of Lil Wayne, Rob Gronkowski, Hawk, Bella Thorne and Jordyn Woods have all been eliminated.

Michaels’ won over the hearts of the audience week by week with his performances of Elvis Presley‘s “A Little Less Conversation,” Billy Ray Cyrus‘ “Achy Breaky Heart” and Bill Withers’ “Lean On Me.”

Unfortunately, it came down to the Banana and the Kitty this week and one had to pack their bags.

Sharon Osbourne immediately recognized Michaels as he started singing and even comically tweeted about the ordeal.

Michaels talked to Entertainment Weekly and gave some tips for lasting in the The Masked Singer and about the medical coincidence.

“Go into it to have fun,” Bret Michaels’ begins. “Go into it knowing you’re going to lose about five pounds in body sweat. Most importantly, try to do anything you can to throw people off. I was doing everything, like the blue collar thing that comes from my Pittsburgh upbringing. But the color of the Banana outfit gave them a little hint as to my love of the Steelers and the Pirates and the Penguins. Try to do the best you can, especially if you’re a vocalist.”

“Try to pick song selections that are, at first, a little outside of your wheelhouse so you can throw your voice. I just tried to do my best to throw my voice.”

“Ironically, [Wednesday’s episode] marked the 10-year anniversary of the survival of my brain hemorrhage. Not knowing that, my song selection was “Knocking on Heaven’s Door.” I had no clue when I was staying or going from the show. I could’ve went immediately. I could have stayed ’til the end. And my song selection was “Knocking on Heaven’s Door.” It marked the anniversary of the night I was in the emergency room having my brain operated on. That is the universe lining up in a really surreal way.”
