The holiday track, originally written by Frank Loesser in 1944, is reportedly being updated due to the backlash tied to the song’s implications.

The original lyrics involve a male suitor attempting to convince a woman to stay at his place, despite her excuses to leave.

You can listen to the original version below.

Following the recent #MeToo movement, Legend and Clarkson announced that they would be switching up the lyrics to the track in their re-imagined version.

The new version will include Clarkson singing the line, “What will my friends think? If I have one more drink?” to which Legend replies, “It’s your body, and your choice.”

During Monday’s episode of The Talk, Sharon Osbourne weighed in on the decision to revamp the track.

“What would John Legend do, if in 40 years, if somebody wanted to… re-record one of his songs, and there was some group that found it offensive, and somebody just went, ‘Oh, I can change the lyrics on that. It’s, to me, like a master painting. It’s a piece of art.”

She adds, “To change an innocent lyric, to what is it, ‘Your mind and your body?’ What the hell are you on about? That’s ridiculous. I have to tell you, I love John Legend. I love John Legend’s wife, his family. He’s an amazing artist that I really respect. Why do you do this? That’s not right.”

You can view the clip from Monday’s segment below.

The song will be featured on Legend’s forthcoming expanded version of A Legendary Christmas: The Deluxe Edition which drops Nov. 8.
